EOLE-RES, specialized in the conception, development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of wind and solar energy plants, was created in 1999 from an alliance between the French wind energy developer Eole Technologie, active in the wind sector since 1995, and RES, one of the world leaders in the renewable energy industry.
EOLE-RES is today a subsidiary of RES Méditerranée, based in Avignon, a company which develops and builds renewable energy plants across the Mediterranean basin and in the Middle East for the RES Group.
EOLE-RES has installed 350 wind megawatts through-out France, representing the greatest capacity in continental France to date by the same operator. These wind farms represent an annual production of almost 900 million kilowatt-hours, supply enough electricity to cover the needs of some 365.000 people (the equivalent of the population of Nice) and, in doing so, avoid the rejection of 255.000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
