EOLE-RES,
specialized in the conception, development, financing, construction,
operation and maintenance of wind farms, was created in 1999
from an alliance between the French wind energy developer
Eole Technologie, active in the wind sector since 1995, and
RES, one of the world leaders in the wind industry.
EOLE-RES is at the origin
of 300 MW (megawatts) either built or under construction in
the Aude, the Eastern Pyrenees, Cotentin, Ardeche, Herault,
Drome, Marne, Aisne and Doubs, representing the greatest capacity
installed in continental France to date by the same operator.
These 15 wind farms, which represent an annual production
of almost 800 million kilowatt-hours, supply enough electricity
to cover the needs of some 320.000 people (that is to say
a city like Nantes - 6th largest French town) and in doing
so, avoid the rejection of 233.500 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere
each year.
